Jets Win Both Games in Oslo

Oslo - The story going into the 2010 Continental Cup Final between the Winnipeg Jets and Olso Vikings was basically Alexander Ovechkin versus Henrik Lundqvist. In game one of the series, both seemed to wither under the spotlight, but in game two, the Swede shined.

Lundqvist stopped all 30 shots he faced, and looked like a man possessed at times. During two second period Viking powerplays he made several game breaking saves, stopping Ovechkin a total of eight times in the contest. After being pulled in game one in favour of Erik Ersberg, he admitted that he was especially determined to bounce back.

"I don't think I had anything to prove" said the Jets' goalie "I let a couple soft ones in early last night, and Erik came in and played great for us. I just really wanted to focus and have a flawless game tonight. The whole team played well."

Ovie had a much better game than in the series openner, where he racked up eight penalty minutes and was a minus-2. But number eight is going to have to find the back of the net in Cup-frenzied Winnipeg if his team has any chance of bringing the series back to Norway.

The Jets will look to extend their current four-game winning streak tonight and put a strangle-hold on the series.
