Jets Soaring Up The Standings
Winnipeg - It has been a turbulent season for the Jets, but things seem to be headed in the right direction. During the Jets 8 game winning streak they have wins against three of the top four teams in the league. They beat the Fire Ants twice and have wins against the Ottawa Slammers and most recently tonight against arguably the best team in the SICHL the Oslo Vikings.
Not only did they beat the Vikings this afternoon but they scored 6 goals against the league's best defensive team. A side show to tonight's game was rookie goalie Erik Ersberg facing his old team. Ersberg did not get the win as he was pulled in the second period but he remains undefeated at five wins and no losses. "Erik has been great so far for us. He showed some nerves today but he has been a big part of our winning streak. He was clearly the best goalie in the minors this season but was never given a chance in Olso. With Henrik (Lundqvist) struggling a little this season acquiring Erik has pushed Henrik to play better" said GM Bourassa.
The Jets look to extend their winning streak to nine games on Monday night against the Miami Makos
