NHL Expansion Draft

Is anyone else more excited to see all the off-season moves from VGK, expansion draft, entry draft, pre-expansion draft trades, free agent signings, the list goes on... than watching the cup finals?

YES!!!!! Especially because it looks more and more like the stupid penguins are gonna win which is barfy...super barfy

Heard they got Kruger the other day which is interesting, very intrigued by how this team shapes together! Especially since it will automatically become my new west conference team (replacing nashville ironically)

1) Very excited for the expansion draft
2) The Pens won, which is even more exciting. Bask in their glory, boys. It's so sweet.

So was it everything you thought it would be or more.

As a builder I like what Vegas did...as a fan I think they are in for a rough 4 years. They could have had quite the team had they chosen aggressively.

Yeah, McPhee made some interesting choices.  Very surprised he didn't stock up on goalies -- I thought Mrazek, Grubauer, and even Neuvirth would be easy picks, but I guess there wasn't much of a market to flip those guys after.  Nosek/Schmidt/Bellemare are all useful guys, so fair enough.

Still can't believe the Avs exposed Pickard.  In what universe would Vegas have taken Varlamov?  I don't get it.

Some of the moves surprised me especially when they weren't accompanied by trades to protect the players left on the board. But overall I like what they did.

It will be interesting to see where a player like Methot ends up following the trade deadline and what Vegas can turn him into as I don't see him on their roster for long but he has value.

I think there was a lot of behind the scenes stuff that would explain some of the picks.

Likely a lot of "I'd rather trade this guy than lose him to you, why don't we both benefit from this and I'll give you X to not pick Y".
