About the SICHL
The SICHL is an online keeper fantasy hockey league in which participants role-play as the General Manager of a professional hockey franchise.
As General Manager, the participant is responsible for drafting amateur players, signing free agents to contracts, and trading players/assets with other General Managers as they see fit. General Managers must also set ticket prices, evaluate arena renovations, and manage other aspects of their franchise. General Managers are also encouraged to submit game day lineups, write press releases for their teams, and to otherwise be active in the league's online community.
Players in the league are based on actual NHL players, and are rated on 13 criteria based on their real-life performance.
A simulator is used to simulate games between two teams and hypothesize the outcome. The results of the simulation are posted on the league website in the form of a typical hockey game box score. The SICHL simulates one season per year, beginning in the fall and running into early summer.
The SICHL is run by volunteers and no real money is exchanged.
